Build an Invitation in Your Family’s Voice

Start with who is inviting the guests. Enter both parents' names, one household, or the two families in the inviting-families field. Put each family on a separate line if that makes the relationship clearer. Add the couple's names exactly as they should appear in print. Include initials, qualifications, honorifics or parentage in those fields if your family wants them. The builder does not automatically add titles or assume a naming convention.

The default invitation line reads எங்கள் இல்லத் திருமண விழாவிற்கு வருகை தந்து மணமக்களை வாழ்த்துமாறு அன்புடன் அழைக்கிறோம். It invites guests to attend the family's wedding celebration and bless the couple. You can shorten it or replace it completely. Read the full preview aloud before exporting, especially after adding long names, to check that the introduction and invitation still fit together.

Choose an Opening Without Adding Unwanted Wording

The opening selector offers உ, சிவமயம் and ஸ்ரீராமஜெயம். Other choices are இறைவனின் அருளால், இயேசுவின் அருளால் and அல்லாஹ்வின் அருளால். Select the wording your household uses. Choose the blank option for an invitation that begins directly with திருமண அழைப்பிதழ். The blank opening is the initial setting, so a religious phrase is never added without a choice.

These short openings are offered as family wording choices, not as required liturgy. If your ceremony needs a particular prayer, blessing or quotation, obtain its exact text from your family or officiant and incorporate it in the invitation field. This tool does not translate scripture or prescribe ceremonial language. The remaining fields work the same with any opening.

Enter the Tamil Date From a Confirmed Calendar

The month selector contains all twelve Tamil month names, in order: சித்திரை, வைகாசி, ஆனி, ஆடி, ஆவணி, புரட்டாசி, ஐப்பசி, கார்த்திகை, மார்கழி, தை, மாசி, பங்குனி. Choose the month and enter the day shown in the calendar your family follows. Add the Tamil year name only if you have confirmed it. Leaving the Tamil month, day and year blank leaves them out of the preview.

A Tamil solar month is not a fixed block of Gregorian dates. The Positional Astronomy Centre explains solar-month reckoning in terms of the Sun's ingress into successive nirayana rasis. IMD's Rashtriya Panchang publishes computed calendric information. This builder does not contain the astronomical calculations needed for an exact Tamil calendar conversion. It therefore asks you to enter the Tamil date yourself rather than guessing from the middle of a Gregorian month.

The separate Gregorian date field adds a day-month-year date and a Tamil weekday to the invitation. That weekday comes from the Gregorian date alone. It does not validate your Tamil month, day or year. Cross-check both date lines against your confirmed booking and calendar. If they disagree, correct the form before printing; the tool will not flag that mismatch for you.

For the time line, choose முகூர்த்தம், நல்ல நேரம் or the neutral திருமண நேரம். Enter the start and end time yourself, with காலை or மாலை where appropriate. No auspicious-time calculation takes place. Include a separate reception time in the invitation wording if your event needs one.

Check the Venue and Hand the Text to Your Printer

Write the venue name and full address, including town and a useful landmark when needed. Enter an RSVP name and phone number you are comfortable sharing. The RSVP field accepts ordinary English and numbers without phonetic conversion, which helps preserve email addresses and phone details. Turn off the Tamil typing toggle when entering other English text. Always review names after phonetic conversion, since spelling choices need your judgment.

Copy Text gives you the Unicode wording for sharing. Download .txt keeps the same wording in a plain text file. The Word download and print layout center the text on a simple sheet. Use Print / PDF to review the page breaks and save a PDF through the print dialog. This is a wording builder, so it does not add ornamental graphics, a background image or a predesigned card.

If a press asks for Bamini or Vanavil, choose the matching text download under More. Tell the operator which encoding you selected and ask for a proof in their actual font. A legacy text file can look like Latin characters until that font is applied. Inspect names, vowel signs, punctuation, dates and line breaks on the proof. Keep a Unicode copy alongside it so there is an unambiguous original to compare. STMZH export is unavailable because its mapping is not verified in this project.

Questions People Ask

How do I write Tamil wedding invitation wording?

Enter the inviting family names, both people’s names, confirmed date, time and venue. Choose an opening if wanted, then edit Invitation Lines to sound like your family. Read the complete preview before exporting. The builder assembles your wording, but it does not confirm the spelling of names or the event arrangements.

Can I choose Christian, Muslim or neutral wording?

Yes. The Opening selector includes Christian, Muslim and general religious phrases, plus a blank choice for a neutral beginning. Select the wording your household wants and check the preview. These choices are short editable family openings, rather than prescribed ceremony texts. Obtain any required prayer or quotation from your family or officiant.

Can I include both families and grandparents on the invitation?

Yes. Use Inviting Parents / Families for the hosts you want to name, with separate lines when helpful. Include grandparents or other relatives there if they belong in your family’s wording. The builder does not work out relationships or add titles automatically, so review the order and spelling of every name.

Does the tool convert a Gregorian date to a Tamil date?

No. Enter the Tamil month, day and optional year name from the calendar your family has confirmed. The Gregorian field supplies a numeric date and Tamil weekday only. It does not validate the separate Tamil date. Compare both lines with your confirmed calendar and venue booking before sharing or ordering printed invitations.

Does this calculate a muhurtham time?

No. Enter a time already confirmed by your family or officiant. Choose the time label you want and include morning or evening in the time field so guests can read it clearly. The builder displays what you enter; it does not calculate, recommend or verify an auspicious wedding time.

Can I add a reception on a different date or at another venue?

Yes. Add a clearly labelled reception section in Invitation Lines, including its own date, time and address. The dedicated date, time and venue fields describe one main ceremony, so they do not create a separate reception schedule automatically. Read the final preview to make sure guests can distinguish the two events.

How do I keep English names and RSVP phone numbers unchanged?

Turn off Type Tamil With English Keys before entering English names, qualifications or venue text in Tamil-enabled fields. The RSVP field already preserves English letters and numbers. Check every phone digit and email address in the preview. Turning the toggle off preserves input; it does not translate existing Tamil into English.

Can I copy the invitation wording into a WhatsApp message?

Use Copy Text to copy the Unicode invitation wording, then paste it into your message and review it before sending. This copies text without card artwork. For short messages, keep the invitation line brief while retaining names, date, time and venue. The builder does not send messages or manage a guest list.

Can I download Bamini text for a printing press?

Yes. Open More → Bamini Text, or choose Vanavil Text if your press specifically requests it. Tell the operator which encoding you exported and keep a Unicode original for comparison. Check their proof carefully, especially initials, vowel signs, punctuation and dates. For other encoding questions, see the Bamini converter.

Can I save the wedding invitation as Word or PDF?

Yes. Choose More → Download .docx for a centered Word document or Print / PDF for the print dialog. Review the layout and choose a PDF destination if offered. The output is a simple invitation sheet containing your wording; ornamental graphics, card backgrounds and a decorative image download are not included.
